I've always wished I could give out a grant. Then, in 2014, I realized: maybe I can! With this robust attitude, I established The Lottery Grant. Three artists (visual, performance, and literary) are mailed a lottery ticket every month for one year.

Reasonably speaking, recipients have no chance of gaining anything.  99.999% of this grant is a monthly acknowledgement that they are important, valuable, and deserve all the damn money. Of course, despite the fact that there is really no chance that the grant will be a financial gain, there is still a chance...

Recipients receive an official certificate, written in an official font and printed on official cardstock. Each month, they are mailed a Washington State Lotto ticket in a card which is usually hand-painted by me but may occasionally be an indecipherable drawing by a preschooler. Most importantly, recipients now know that they are unequivocally successful and will never again need to experience a second of self-doubt.
